Chica De Pora was inspired by a very special woman in my life who has rich and beautiful curls. She comes from the island of Cabo Verde and relies on products specifically designed for curly and textured hair. Drawing from her heritage and experience, we created this to support and show love for the natural beauty of curls.

“Chica” - Spanish word meaning a female friend or girl.

“De” - In Spanish it often translates to “of,” “from,” or “about” in English. Its exact meaning depends on the context. In general, it connects a person, place, or thing to another concept. It can also add extra information or describe a specific type of something.

“Pora” - A playful twist on the word “Explorer.”

Together, “Chica De Pora” was created as a fun phrase meant to symbolize the spirit of an adventurous explorer. It is a sophisticated name for those women unafraid to discover their own paths. For Spanish speakers, it may read like “Girl of Pora", but for us its intended meaning is "Girl Explorer".
